Virat Kohli Opens Up About His Rumoured Rift With Rohit Sharma: We Are Feeding On Lies And Overlooking Facts
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's rumoured rift has been making headlines since a week now. In a media briefing before leaving for the West Indies tour, the Indian captain was questioned about the recent reports and Virat without mincing words spoke his mind and called all the news a lie. On more than three occasions the press asked Virat about Rohit Sharma unfollowing his wife Anushka Sharma and how their sports management company was the cause of the rift.

The Indian cricket team's coach, Ravi Shastri too tried to save the day and explained that he has seen the boys play on-field and off-field and the kind of camaraderie he has witnessed cannot be there if there is a fight going on. Virat did not look perturbed when questioned about the reported problem, in fact, he chose to answer it all in detail.

Virat said, "Even I have heard a lot of in the past few days. If the team's mental state wouldn't have been good the team wouldn't have played well. If the dressing room state wouldn't have been good then I don't think we would have played so well"

When probed further about the news that their respective wives have a problem with each other, Kohli said, "In my opinion, it is baffling, to be honest. it is absolutely ridiculous to read stuff out. I have been to pubic events and public sentiments are different. Here we are feeding on lies and overlooking facts and creating fantasies and scenarios and want to accept that this is the truth. I have seen this for too long and it is sad to bring personal life in the front. I have played for 11 years and Rohit for 10 years. It baffles you as a leader as a coach as a team when lies float around and it is completely disrespectful,"

He further explained, "if I don't like a person or I am insecure about a person you will see it on my face. I have always praised Rohit whenever I have had opportunity cause we have never had issues. We are working towards getting Indian team on top but here people are working on this. We have to reflect as cricketers and think are we really creating that is not well. Our camaraderie is evident on-field and you cannot get along with people if there is a problem."
